As of 27th March 2020, all South Africans have been placed on lockdown for a 21-day period to limit the
spread of the Covid-19 virus. The hope is that maintaining social distance and isolating ourselves as
much as possible, will reduce the likelihood of infection and the further spread of the virus.
During this time, staying connected to both family and the workplace are critically important. We are
fortunate that we live in a time where the wonders of technology allow us to maintain contact and
relationships with friends and family, despite the need to remain separate from them for the next few
weeks – possibly months.
Similarly, many of us are able to work remotely and can remain productive during this challenging period.
Our ability to stay connected to the business world is vital to providing stability to the economy and
limiting the negative effects caused by the current situation facing people across the globe.
There has never been a better time to embrace the benefits of technology!
It’s clear that our robust communication networks, coupled with the connectivity provided by the internet,
have uniquely equipped us to deal with many issues that have arisen due to the Covid-19 virus. Being
able to communicate, while being physically isolated, is a massive blessing!
